Job description

We are partnering with a leading, international financial services institution with a strong global footprint and a long-standing presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The firm is recognised for its scale, sophistication, and commitment to innovation across global markets.

They are expanding their Global Markets legal function in Hong Kong and are seeking a motivated junior to mid-level lawyer or documentation specialist to support a wide range of structured products distributed across APAC. This is an outstanding opportunity to sit close to the business, gain exposure to complex financial instruments, and build a strong foundation in structured finance within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Front‑line exposure to structured securities across equity, credit, rates, FX and other asset classes
  • A lean, specialised legal team, offering visibility and hands‑on responsibility from day one
  • Close interaction with Global Markets, Treasury, and regional legal teams
  • A culture that values precision, commercial thinking, and collaboration

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a trusted partner to the business, supporting the structuring, issuance and post‑issuance lifecycle of structured securities across APAC. Your scope will include:

  • Drafting and reviewing issuance documentation (including pricing supplements and final terms) for notes, certificates, and warrants issued under both internal and third‑party programmes
  • Advising front‑office, treasury, and operational teams on legal and documentation matters related to structured products
  • Supporting the end‑to‑end issuance process, including settlement mechanics and exchange listing requirements
  • Monitoring regulatory and market developments impacting structured securities and sharing insights with relevant stakeholders
  • Helping manage legal and operational risks in line with internal governance and control frameworks
  • Coordinating with external counsel where specialist advice or jurisdictional support is required

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with 2+ years of relevant post‑qualification experience (PQE).
  • Prior experience at an international law firm and/or global financial institution advising on derivatives products across major asset classes.
