Equities Operations Analyst / Associate

Our client is a leading Asia-focused multi-strategy hedge fund with a strong institutional investor base and growing global footprint. The firm operates a diversified investment platform across equities, macro, and multi-asset strategies, supported by a best-in-class infrastructure and technology stack.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire an Equities Operations professional to join their Hong Kong office.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

🔹 Trade & Post-Trade Support

• Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle for cash equities and equity derivatives
• Ensure accurate trade capture, booking, and allocation across portfolios
• Monitor trades through to settlement and resolve any post-trade issues

🔹 Reconciliations & Controls

• Perform daily reconciliation of positions, cash, and trade activity
• Investigate and resolve breaks with internal stakeholders and external counterparties
• Maintain strong operational controls to mitigate risk

🔹 Settlement & Prime Broker Interaction

• Oversee trade settlement and minimize fail rates
• Liaise with prime brokers on trade matching, confirmations, and financing
• Support stock borrow and funding processes for short positions

🔹 Front Office Support

• Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders on trade-related queries
• Provide timely resolution of issues impacting positions or P&L

🔹 Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to enhance workflows and increase automation
• Contribute to system upgrades and operational efficiency initiatives

✅ Candidate Profile

🎓 Education

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline
• Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA) are advantageous

💼 Experience

• 3+ experience in equities operations / middle office
• Background in:
• Hedge fund (preferred), OR
• Investment bank or asset manager

🧠 Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
• Equities trade lifecycle
• Settlement and reconciliation processes
• Prime brokerage model
• Familiarity with OMS/PMS platforms (e.g. Enfusion, Geneva)
• Advanced Excel; exposure to Python/VBA is a plus

• Strong communication skills with front office and external stakeholders

🌏 Regional Experience (Preferred)

• Exposure to Asian markets (Hong Kong, China, Japan)
• Familiarity with Stock Connect / CCASS is advantageous
