Job Title: Head of Asset Servicing, AEJ

Our investment banking client is looking for a Head of Asset Servcing to take full ownership of their Asset Servicing function across Asia Ex-Japan (AEJ). This is a visible leadership role accountable for strategy, operations, and talent across both onshore and offshore teams.

Strategy & Vision

• Set the long-term direction for asset servicing, ensuring alignment with firmwide goals.

• Join the regional Operations leadership team and represent asset servicing at an executive level.

• Continuously improve the operating model for greater scalability and resilience.

Operations & Delivery

• Own end-to-end performance of corporate actions, income, proxy voting, tax reclaims, reconciliations, and custody.

• Ensure all teams meet SLAs, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards.

• Use data and KPIs to manage performance and act as the final escalation point for major incidents.

Change & Innovation

• Champion transformation through automation, AI, process re-engineering, and offshoring.

• Partner with Technology and Change teams to roll out next-generation tools.

• Drive cost efficiency without sacrificing service quality or risk controls.

Risk & Governance

• Maintain executive accountability for the control environment globally.

• Ensure robust frameworks for identifying, escalating, and fixing operational risks.

• Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to meet regulatory obligations across jurisdictions.

• Represent the function in senior risk committees and Board-level reporting.

Clients & Stakeholders

• Build trusted relationships with senior internal partners, key clients, and external forums.

• Act as the public face of asset servicing in high-stakes client and regulatory conversations.

• Partner with Front Office, Client Services, and Product teams to support revenue and retention.

What You Bring

Essential Experience

• 15+ years in asset servicing, custody, or a related financial services field.

• Executive Director-level experience leading global, multi-site onshore/offshore teams.

• Deep expertise across the full asset servicing lifecycle (corporate actions, income, tax, reconciliations, proxy voting, custody).

• Proven success delivering large-scale transformation in a complex, matrixed environment.

• Strong stakeholder influence at executive level and commercial acumen (P&L, budgeting).

Preferred Background

• Experience at a global investment bank, top-tier custodian, or large asset manager.

• Leadership roles in more than one Asian location.

• Familiarity with Broadridge, S&P, or similar platforms.
