Our client is a leading international brokerage firm and has long been one of the global leaders in derivatives trading. It is now seeking to hire a lawyer for its small but growing Hong Kong office.
The successful candidate will work as a trusted adviser to The Senior Management Team in Hong Kong and will report to the Regional General Counsel based outside of Hong Kong. He/she will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support in connection with all aspects of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters. This is a hands-on role involving significant personal handling of legal work while delegating some work to outside counsel as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will a Hong Kong qualified lawyer with around 4 – 10 years of post qualification experience gained with an international law firm or with a financial services company. Experience in derivatives products is ideal but not mandatory. Lawyers with a background in general banking and finance law with a keen interest in gaining knowledge and experience in derivatives product would also be considered. Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and fluent spoken Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) is required.
