Senior Business Analyst / Product Manager - 1 year contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Product Manager to join a high-profile card product integration and transformation programme in Hong Kong.

The Role

You will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, operational functions, and payments subject matter experts to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into scalable and effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

Discovery & Business Analysis

• Lead and facilitate discovery workshops (eg. training, cocreation, brainstorming) across business, operations, technology, and compliance functions
• Analyse and document current-state (AS-IS) processes and define future-state (TO-BE) operating models
• Identify process gaps, dependencies, opportunities, constraints, and risks
• Translate business objectives into detailed business and functional requirements

Requirements & Solution Definition

• Own end-to-end requirements across the programme lifecycle
• Produce high-quality documentation including:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Functional Specifications
  • User Stories
  • Process Maps
  • Integration Requirements
• Define acceptance criteria and maintain traceability through design, build, testing, and deployment phases
• Partner closely with technology teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned to architecture standards

Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders, technology teams, and payments SMEs
• Drive requirement workshops, decision-making sessions, and formal sign-off processes
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple functions
• Manage competing priorities and drive alignment across complex stakeholder groups

Delivery Support & Business Readiness

• Collaborate with programme teams throughout design, build, testing, and implementation phases
• Support UAT planning, execution, defect management, and validation activities
• Drive operational readiness, training, process updates, and cutover planning
• Ensure smooth transition into business-as-usual (BAU) operations

Required Experience

Essential

• 8+ years' experience as a:
  • Business Analyst
  • Product Manager
  • Payments Consultant
• Proven experience leading discovery workshops (eg. training, cocreation, brainstorming) and complex requirements gathering activities
• Strong background within cards, payments, or retail banking environments
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Deep understanding of the card transaction lifecycle, including:
  • Authorization
  • Clearing
  • Settlement
  • Reconciliation
• Experience producing detailed business and functional requirements documentation
• Ability to operate independently within large-scale transformation programmes
• High proficiency in English is a MUST; Native or almost native level is highly preferred

Preferred

• Experience working with card payment scheme products
• Strong understanding of card processing systems and integration architectures
• Experience delivering large-scale transformation programmes across multiple markets
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery methodologies
• Hands-on experience with:

• Professional certifications such as:
  • PSPO
