RMIT University's STEM College is an exceptional hub of excellence that delivers transformative education and impactful research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and health sciences. With a steadfast commitment to fostering innovation, research, and industry engagement, the college stands at the forefront of preparing students for successful careers in the rapidly evolving STEM landscape.

As the Director – STEM Hub (Asia) based in Hong Kong SAR, you will operationalise the newly established Hub for RMIT STEM College's strategic initiatives and expansion planning. The incumbent will play a pivotal role for fostering the industry engagement, operational success, partnership strategies, business growth and program development in Asia Pacific region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embrace sustainable relationships for STEM College's international expansion in the Asia Pacific Region by serving as primary intermediary that connects stakeholders, business partners and industry representatives.

  • Provide leadership for and management of all operational aspects of the Hub to ensure the achievement of business objectives.

  • Spearhead the project development from STEM College's International Strategy, ensuring successful stakeholder communication, and evaluation of regional and partnership strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Promote and lead development of programmes through entrusted industry engagement.

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis and offer precise recommendation to STEM College regarding policies, student demographics and identify emerging trends and market opportunities.

  • Drive strategic collaboration with existing partnerships in the Asia Pacific region on program solutions and delivery of partnership service excellence.

  • Assume responsibility of business development with primary emphasis on priority growth markets to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Foster an inclusive environment to enhance the staff experience, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postgraduate qualifications with proven track record in tertiary education sector.

  • Staying abreast of emerging trends in transnational education and research.

  • Extensive business development experiences in Greater China are highly desirable to this role.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop and implement effective plans and initiatives that align with RMIT STEM College’s International Priorities.

  • Successfully leading and managing change initiatives in a tertiary educational context.

  • Highly developed interpersonal and multi-lingual communication skills.

  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation capabilities to advocate for STEM College’s interests and collaborate on initiatives.
