The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced AML compliance professional to step into an Assistant Vice President role within the Hong Kong office. This is a career-defining opportunity for individuals passionate about financial crime prevention, regulatory compliance, and building robust frameworks that safeguard the institution and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Strengthen compliance frameworks by supporting the design and enhancement of AML/CFT programs and controls.
- Advise business teams on compliance matters, ensuring day-to-day operations align with regulatory expectations and internal standards.
- Conduct risk assessments on client relationships, transactions, and emerging issues, providing clear guidance to stakeholders.
- Monitor and test compliance systems, identifying gaps and recommending improvements to ensure effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and documentation for internal management and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions to staff, promoting a strong compliance culture across the organization.
- Collaborate on strategic projects that enhance the institution's ability to detect and prevent financial crime.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for professionals who bring:
- A degree in law, finance, accounting, or related disciplines, with recognized AML/Compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS).
- 5-8 years of experience in AML, sanctions, or financial crime compliance within banking or regulatory environments.
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong and international AML/CFT regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team setting.
- Fluency in English and Chinese.
