About the client:
Our client is looking for a strategic, practical, and highly experienced Supply Chain Director, APAC to oversee our manufacturing, procurement, and logistics strategy for our architectural hardware and acoustic aluminum partition systems in Asia. This position, which will be based in Hong Kong, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur, will supervise the whole supply chain footprint throughout Asia, promoting risk management, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier excellence.
For goods sold throughout Europe, Asia, and other important regions, you will be in charge of supplier selection, contract manufacturing relationships, import/export strategy, pricing strategy, and end-to-end supply chain operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a regional supply chain strategy for hardware, components, aluminum partitions, and associated systems.
- Create a strong and expandable supply network for markets in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian countries.
- Oversee the evaluation of supply chain risk, taking into account trade, tariffs, geopolitics, and capacity.
- Find, assess, and integrate the most suitable raw-material suppliers and production partners.
- Long-term supply agreements, quality guarantees, pricing, and commercial terms should all be negotiated.
- Oversee contract manufacturers to guarantee adherence to certifications, ethical sourcing regulations, and quality standards.
- Create and preserve solid, strategic vendor relationships to provide long-term cost, quality, and performance gains.
- Oversee the management of supplier quality, including audits, remedial measures, and initiatives for ongoing improvement.
- Make sure that import/export laws, customs classifications, and anti-dumping measures are all fully followed in Europe, Asia, and other markets.
- Collaborate with international teams to drive demand planning, inventory optimization, and delivery dependability.
- Optimize lead times, costs, and service levels by managing cross-border operations and logistics partners.
- Track end-to-end KPIs, such as lead time, defect rates, cost reduction, supplier performance, on-time delivery, and logistics effectiveness.
- To guarantee agreement on design-for-manufacture (DFM) and product industrialization, collaborate closely with the engineering and product teams.
- Collaborate with Finance on working capital impacts, supplier payment terms, and total landed cost.
- Lead or assist with ERP/SCM digital transformation projects; Provide training, and guide a high-achieving supply chain team that includes supply operations, logistics, QA/QC, and sourcing.
- Encourage a culture of performance, accountability, and ongoing development.
Candidate Profile:
- 12+ years of supply chain, strategic sourcing, or operations leadership experience, with extensive knowledge of manufacturing in Asia.
- A solid track record of sourcing, ideally in building supplies, hardware, aluminum, or construction materials, from China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, or comparable markets.
- A thorough grasp of international import/export regulations and trade compliance throughout Europe and Asia.
- Strong commercial acumen, including knowledge of total landed cost, working capital, and supplier risk; shown ability to negotiate complicated commercial agreements and ensure competitive, steady long-term supply.
- Outstanding interpersonal, intercultural, and communication abilities.
- Speaking English fluently.
- Travel is necessary.
