Job description

Reporting to General Manager and Senior Credit Officer, this new incumbent will act as the credit officer under Global Credit Department (Hong Kong for Property Finance and Corporate Finance Business, covering Greater China – mainly PRC and Hong Kong).

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess relevant types of applications including credit application, grading application, self-assessment, monitoring, asset disposal, etc. prepared by front office, and compose sound recommendations for seeking approval from relevant authorities on a timely manner

  • Be vigilant and highly alert to creditworthiness of clients including market situations, provide advice to the related departments on proper credit-related actions whenever necessary

  • To discuss with front offices from early stage of deals, manage application process and prepare credit recommendation memo of applications and seek for approval from senior approver

  • To take initiative for credit risk analysis to existing customers as well as industry or market research and analysis to ensure the bank’s asset portfolio is in good shape

  • Highlight potential credit risks of customer and provide comments and recommendations to management

  • Answer enquiries from other relevant departments, head office or regulatory bodies on related matters when necessary

  • Handle ad hoc project as required

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree holder or above, preferably in Finance, Banking or Economics related disciplines

  • 10 years of banking related work experience, in which with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in property finance and corporate lending, or credit risk management with exposure in Greater China market

  • Experience in property finance and familiar with corporate finance facilities

  • Independent, attentive to details, good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Capability to discuss and guide front offices from early stage of deals to make appropriate credit decision

  • A good team player with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

  • Proficient in using PC and MS Offices
