The Role

As Senior Legal Counsel, Asia, you will play a pivotal role within the regional legal team, working closely with the Regional General Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance across the Group's Asian operations. This broad and influential position encompasses:

  • Commercial Matters: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse agreements, including distribution, service, technology, outsourcing, and partnership contracts.
  • Transactional Support: Advising on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and financing transactions.
  • Distribution Arrangements: Supporting innovative and complex cross-border distribution partnerships.
  • Regulatory Advisory: Providing counsel on insurance and financial services regulations across multiple Asian jurisdictions.
  • Intellectual Property & Governance: Advising on IP rights, licensing, compliance, and corporate governance matters.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment:

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years PQE.
  • Background in M&A transactions.
  • Experience advising insurance clients or prior in-house experience within an insurance company preferred.
  • Private practice candidates with relevant expertise will also be considered.
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential.
