VP, Finance - Regulatory Reporting

Job description

​Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review and submit regulatory HKMA returns/surveys/financial disclosures according to completion instructions, consultation papers, applicable ordinances and procedure manuals

• Prepare and review other financial information required for ALCO meetings and Census and Statistics Department of HKSAR

• Actively liaise with other departments and obtain proofs to verify data validity including financial and non-financial information before reporting figures or entries when necessary

• Regularly monitor various existing control measures to ensure the quality of HKMA returns and surveys meeting the expectations and requirements of regulators and auditors. Formulate additional ones when deficiencies are found and have them properly documented in procedure manuals

• Interpret new/revised return and survey requirements and coordinate with various parties to ensure new information and data can be obtained for reporting before the new rules or requirements become effective

• Liaise with external and internal auditors and resolve their queries in a responsible manner to ensure no major audit finding

• To handle inquiries from regulators and also from internal stakeholders on return/surveys/financial disclosures

• Assist in providing data requirements and user acceptance tests for banking return and granular data reporting related projects to promote automation on compilation and review processes

Requirements:

• Degree holder, preferably from accounting or finance related fields, HKICPA or equivalent is preferred

• At least 7 years of relevant banking experiences in a sizeable bank with 3 years or more working as a return reviewer

• Familiar with HKMA return completion instructions (e.g., LMR, LMT, L&A, NBMCE, Large Exposure)

• Project Experience in system implementation

• Familiar with MS-Office applications and have experiences with core banking systems such as T24, Oracle, OBS and FOX

• Proficient in written and spoken English

• Willing to understand the upstream processes affecting the quality of our data sources and propose controls if needed

• Proactively communicate and discuss issues clearly and structurally

• Adaptive to changes but with a strong risk control mindset
