Our client is a leading securities brokerage firm with nearly 30 years of history and is listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is now seeking a Head of Legal and Compliance (Managing Director Grade) for its Hong Kong office.
The position will be responsible for providing strategic counsel in relation to broad ranging legal matters including transactional matters such as capital markets transactions, providing advice to the business in respect of strategic business direction as well as managing legal risks, formulating management policies, reviewing and drafting business contracts, and advising on the effectiveness of core operational controls etc.
The ideal candidate will be a Hong Kong qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of post qualification experience with experience working as in-house counsel of an investment bank/brokerage firm and prior private practice experience focusing on the area of capital markets. He/she must be proficient in English (written and spoken) and Chinese (spoken and reading).
