Job description

  • Oversee banking operations for the bank
  • Implement operational policies and ensuring compliance with banking regulations and policies
  • Cantonese/Mandarin is MANDATORY


I am looking for a strategic leader to serve and lead as Head of Operations (Retail Banking) for my client, a leading bank in Hong Kong.


Key Responsibilities:              

  • Responsible for the overall setup of the infrastructure and process of the operations service for the bank - account on-boarding (AML/KYC), payment processing and customer service center
  • Oversee banking operations - Implement operational policies and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and policies
  • Build and manage the control process in accordance with the internal and external policies & regulations e.g. sanctions and related screening, daily monitoring and exceptions handling mechanism
  • Ensure process improvement for operations excellence to ensure the Bank is at the forefront of the business, according to the latest market trend and technology
  • Act as Complaint officer of the Bank for contact by HKMA in relation to customer complaint or complaint handling


Key Requirements:                                         

  • Cantonese/Mandarin is MANDATORY
  • 15 years’ banking experience with 10 years in management role in retail banking operations and risk management
  • Solid knowledge of control and regulatory requirements, AML/KYC/CDD requirements etc
  • Lead transformational change with the use of fintech solution to maximize operations, control and service efficiency
